... Ideally you make the skull to a preferred spherical shape, then the pistons (although they could be ordered simultaneously, with a final fit), then all the finishing work on the head so as not to have the guides and seats move around, but I bet they will still move some if that much of an extensive modification. But if you have to fit the valve notches very precisely (you can't always have the piston manu do this, at least not the depth) the valve job would have to be finished ahead of the pistons. Fortunately skulls don't seem to be necessary in Pro Stock.

Aaah ,I got ya....So with this cyl. head your pretty much stuck with this chamber then.....Not that there`s anything wrong with it.....It just seems that doing the skull work would be done somewhat last....But I understand what your saying.....

What is the chamber volume on that head?

What is the combustion chamber diameter?

well i broke a valve at the adrl race and stuffed the head in there sideways. i just think it would be a cool thing to be able to pop one out and replace it with another.

Wow! Now that is cool sh*t.
That is 1 talented guy.
That must cost a fortune.
So i guess rays skulled head must be worth something.  I could see doing a  Vortex  but why would u do that to a j head? wouldn't it be cheaper to redo another head?

The bronze skull is a LOT more heat resistant than aluminum & takes a lot higher temp to melt. That's what makes it good for Funny Bike heads. Ray.

Does anybody know the Ampco equivalent to CA104. Has anyone used Ampco 45 to do a sculled head?
