    Posted: 04 November 2009 at 3:39pm

Can anyone tell me which is better to start dragracing with a 06 busa that I already have or go with the more horsepower 08 which i'm prepared to buy.  And know this is not my first bike and i've been riding for at least 15 years.  Will it be cheaper to get a 08 going fast compared to getting a 06 up to speed with the 08.  Thanks for the help.

18 wheels to 2 wheels I do it all.

If you get an 06 busa for 5K you can get it to run low 9's for another 3K (Swing arm, Airshifter, PCIII, NOS, Intake Cam, Exhaust). So you will only have 8K in the whole thing.

An 08 Busa would set you back around 9 or 10 and run in the low 9's with hardly anything.

The question is, do you want to work on the 06 Busa then race or just spend a little more on an 08 and go race?
It is too bad bench racing is not measureable. That way someone would win.

the earlier busa has a better trans in it for racing...depends how fast you are going to go..08 has the longer stroke...little more hp out of the box...tough call...pros and cons both ways..

You could get the Gen 1 for a good price, then put all the good stuff in it.

Bill , PM sent...
Grady ,
If you already have the 06 Busa, you dont have to put alot into it to be ahead of the 08 Busa. A bolt on stage one turbo kit for your 06 will put you way ahead of a stock 08 and still be 100% streetable.

100% sreetable if you consider spinning the back tire everytime you give it a moderate amount of throttle streetable. At least that what mine does...
