What are your thoughts on the C12, C14, C16 & VP113 oxygenated in a 1340 GSXR N/A?

C-16 is blown apps and nitrous fuel.. Bad choice for N/A
It would slow you down.

14 is a great fuel for high comp/high rpm N/A
If you have relatively low compression C12 might even make more power than 14

The oxygenated fuels like Q16, C23 or VP import would make more power than any of the others.

I run C14 in my 13.5/1 1428 Kawasaki. It works well. Kevin at FBG told me that's what they use. I tried  the the oxygenated 16 but I  needed to change needles so I never got it rich enough.  I think with the proper set up the 16 would have made more power, I may try it again next year. I do run Trons.
I am not sure I understand everything I don't know about this particular situation.

P.S. I am N/A also, no power jets. The Q16 does smell quite strong, most of my helpers didn't like the smell.

I should add I run 38 Lectrons and have 14:1 compression.

I would say 14-1 is too much for C12...

C14 or C25 would be the right non-oxygenated fuel.

The oxygenated stuff makes big power.. but I dont like handling mutant carcenogens.

They make a U4.2 fuel  that I use in my 1200 12.5to1 ZX12....Works good if your not using big compression....

I was told that the reason C-14 runs so well in any compression ratio bike engine is that the fuel was  originally developed  for boat motor applications, having very little intake length (like Bikes). C-14 utilizes a much smaller carbon molecule (carbon chain length) that results with better atomization with short intake runners.

Fasthouse is dead-on $$.
C-14 is probably your best bet to start with. the burn rate on c-16 is to slow and will cause a slight lose on power.
If the C-14 works well, then give the VP 113 a try. I have seen customers pick-up .10-.15 in et. over c12 or c14 due to the added oxygen in the 113.

Do you have to drain the 113 from your tank after each race or do you leave it in. ?? It seems like most of the oxygenated fuels being used have to be removed from the tank or it will eat or gum things up.

I emailed tech support at VP to ask that same question - this is the answer I got:

All oxygenated fuels will lose there content if left in a vented system.  We would recommend draining the carbs and possible plugging off the vent in the tank.  This way you would not have to drain the entire system.  The VP-113 will help you make 3 to 5% more power than the C-12.  Make sure you increase jetting by 2 to 3% to make up for the oxygen content of the VP-113.

Thanks,
