I know there use to be a hot rod cruiser class. I just was looking at the rules in different classes and really dont have a fit.
I have a HD VRod with stock 1130cc displacement.  Running a power adder.  Am I missing something?  I amagine there is not alot of street Harleys looking to race! But there would be , if we had a place to race.

We've recently been in contact with Mr. Valetti  of AMA Dragbike and were pleasantly surprised with his warm reception of possibly running a V-twin pro street class.  We are currently looking for interest from racers, metric and domestic and potential class sponsors.  My oriiginal thoughts were MINIMAL rules, one power adder,  dot tire, and of course NO bars.  This could be an exciting venue for all V-twin racers and a great market place to show your wares.  This also gives H-D racers a chance to mix it up with some metric muscle.  This could be a very exciting catagory to be a part of.  If you have any interest in a catagory like this please post as next season is around the corner.

Had a great time racing with AMA last weekend , the bikes were incredible.  We fit in the street fighter class and qualified 18th out of 48, so not to bad for our first attempt.  Our weekend was cut short due to a head gasket issue on our 2 yr. old motor, wounded but not broken in half ,we threw in the towel.  I had the oppurtunity to meet and speak with Mr. Valetti about the possibility of an V-twin class and it was very encouraging.   What we need now is racers that want to race .  There have been several formats talked of but
I believe it would be for "street bikes" no bars , 1 power adder on a dot. tire .  Jackie Bryce has been consulted for ideas and suggest we put a limit or index on it so it doesn't get to carried away too soon and stop the class from growing.  Keep it fast, fun to do and watch, but put some limit on it .  Please, if you are ready to be part of something exciting, new and  different,  post some ideas, this can happen if the interest is there........

Quickest and fastest street tire V-Twin Shootout!! Does it have to be a twin or can the v-max play too?
When its all said and done, there is usually a lot more said than done.

Keep the ideas coming,  I think if they do put an index on the class they should make it fairly stout, make it more like a head -up class.  At one time an illegal and then outlawed AHDRA street/pro ran in the 8.60's , the majority of the field is in the low 9sec. ,high 8's which makes for some great racing and would be obtainable by a number of different combinations which is what were looking for. Jackie is right though, without any rules, somebody will show up with a G2 prostocker on a street tire and we all know where that leads........Keep in mind, with twins this very well could be an endurance/drag race....

Hey guy's,just wanted to bump this to the top,so far this things gone over like a fart in church ,which i kinda expected. I think the concept is there but putting it togeather could be a challenge. If Mr valelli and the AMA would take the chance on this( something the v-twin org's wont do ) and give it a try at a race or two it could prove to be a exciting new class. Like most other ventures, a good start for this would be by contacting racer's,speed shop's, and forum's which would boost participation and business involvement/purse.I offer my time ,effort and some purse money to show my true intent.Like many other racers, vacation dates and other comitments will come into play by the first of the year for planning and hopefully we can pencil in an AMA race or two......

ErmmIf there was no interest in V-Twin Drag Racing,  AHDRA would not even exist........AMA/DRAGBIKE is missing the boat BIG TIME by staying Metric (except the recent addition of Price/Sternotti in F/B) when they should be figuring ways to welcome ALL BIKES with open arms......Might even put some more Bikes in the pits and FAN IN THE STANDS,   Hmmmmm,  what a concept.........Maybe afraid a H-D would win once in a while???.........No, I don't have a dog in the fight,  and have ridden mostly British bikes since '63, never even owned a H-D........But I do have a little experience in Organized All Bike Drag Races...

Harleys/V-Twins can race the AMA now, just pick a class and get in where you fit in. At the AHDRA it is not that way, hence All Harley in the title.
