To Fontana this is not what I would call a Assn. race this is a race for fun. Cinco De Ricebowl, Afterhours, West Coast Dragbike , will be putting it on but everyone should come to have fun if you are not there for fun stay home. There will be a BBQ sat night and social time so see everyone there Dec 12-13 Fontana. |

Just remember that Fontana will be holding its Summit Series banquet on that Saturday so we will not make to the Bar B Que unless we catch the begining of it. Also, Afterhours usually has a number of hot links and sausages for the guys for lunch and anyone is welcome to drop by and enjoy one. First come - first eat... I just want to emphasize that this event was created to establish an "End of Year" race where bikes from all parts of the country could come for one last hurrah before the next season begins. Simply put, HAVE FUN and get a bunch of seat time. We designed our events to provide a ful day of test and tune passes on Saturday. Our bikes usually get between 8 and 14 passes on Saturday along with qualifying for Sunday's elimination. We hate the standard 2 or 3 passes and then elimination begins. In addition, on Sunday we will allow pretty much all the first round losers in all the events to "Buy Back" into a Pro ET losers bracket. Those bikes who decide not to buy back will be allowed to make 'Time Only' passes each and every round of elimination. The only change to this will be if time (darkness) is against us. We at Afterhours Racing are very happy that you have accepted our invite for this "Year End" event. As you and I have discussed, it would be great to end the year with a "Bang" in Fontana and the following big race would begin the next year in your track in Sacramento. Everyone needs to understand that we are bringing 3 or 4 series groups together for a big time shoot out. We have tried to keep the rules as simple and as standard as possible. Some events may be a little different from others, but for the most part, we all race the same way. As many people know, I truly believe that there is enough time and tracks for several bike series to be held each year. We just need to work together and help each other and not schedule races on top of each other. There is no need to make riders choose between one race or another. As a rider, I honestly can say, all I want is to be able to race as many series as I can without conflict. Look forward to chatting with you this week . I have a couple companies that have expressed a desire to sponsor either product or money for this race. I also have a few ideas on the different series we discussed that may help.
Oh yeah....This is Bob "Pops" Casanares Sr. ...Have a great week and ride safe!

Forgot to mention that our track director (Beth) absolutely loves bikes.... She recognized the importance of what we are trying to accomplish and for this reason she has established that this race is a bike race first and a car race second. In an attempt to help with making sure we have good rubber on the track, she decided to have her race of champions for the Summit team during our event. She usually has a fun race with golf carts racing each other on the track and if everything goes right we are going to have a "King of the Hill" event where we will take a group of bikes in one lane and cars in the other and winner takes 1/2 the money with the other half going to the summit fund. We usually charge $20 per entry. If we have enough female riders she wants to have an all female shootout for bragging rights and a trophy. So, remember to bring your golf cart, but if you don't have one, maybe you can borrow one at the track to race that weekend. Like you say Big Charlie, this is a fun race and a chance for all of us to share our war stories. If anyone needs help with locating a hotel or whatever, let me know and I will try to provide the assistance. We are all excited about the race. Beth was even talking about a "Race of Champions" between all the riders who show up. If we have track champions from each of the outside tracks or even riders who finished in the top 4 from their respective track, we could have a good old shoot out for bragging rights, Trophy and a little cash. Nothing but fun.

Well Looks like it time to start talking about the Grand Finale for the year 2009 at the auto Club track in Fontana, Ca. On the weekend of December 12 & 13 2009, we are all meeting in Fontana for the race of Champions. On the surface this may look like just another event where bikes are invited to drag race for two days. But the truth is that this is much more than that. This is an event that is designed to show any and all that there is a very big need for Motorcycle racing events. It is designed to bring together the Best of the Best for one last showdown before the year ends. It is designed to bring persons who hold race events in their respective tracks and corners of the country to work together in the production of a truly exciting event. And while the leaders and organizers are working together, they will have an opportunity to set forth a game plan as to how we can support each other next year as opposed to conflicting with each other. I am looking forward to working with Big Charlie and Steve Rice. I have enjoyed working with Brandie at MDRA in the past. We all bring something different to the table. We need more track time and the only way we are going to get it is to work together to make Bike racing a success. I am so looking forward to racing in as many events or series as my wife will let me next year. When you all show up in December you will be supporting not only Afterhours Racing but you will be supporting Big Charlie, Steve Rice and Brandie. Because it is time for the leaders to request dates at various tracks for the upcoming year. When we all meet in December, we will give not only Beth (Fontana) proof that Mootorcycle drag racing is alive but every other track on the west coast will hear about the showing and be intersted in holding a motorcycle event at their respective track. This in itself will help open up dates for more races. Come join us for a weekend of fun and support your team leaders. |

If it's anything like it has been during this season it will be great. It is also $20.00 to pull in on Friday December 11th.
