Rubbing alcohol has never really done me right either. Not to mention the nitrous. Upset stomach/acid reflux. I'm trying to make as much sence as everyone else, it works for them. And it's so much easier than trying.

It's not bragging if you can do it. Fear None-Respect Few

Marc, Lorcan stated that someone tried it and it made less power, others on here are saying the motor "barked"

Why, no...I can't.   Although I do recall a dim feeling...it was as if I'd eaten a can of whipped cream the size of a nitrous bottle.

Hey, don't go beating yourself in the head about it Big smile.  John Davis shot Nos to his draw/thru turbo Alky bike.  I think he used Gasoline and Nitrous.  Anyway, I don't think you are going to get a tremendous amount of DATA concerning your question because we all know that most people run Nos with Gasoline.  So to a great extent......you will be finding your own way with much of this.  That's why I said........if you have the cash to do the R&D .......go for it.   We all know who the top Nos tuners are in motorcycle dragracing when it comes to carbs and Nos and most of their experience is with Gasoline.

Good luck and I say go for it!

I know exactly what you mean and this is what I meant on the post where I said "I think it's just a matter of experimentation.  Which is a matter of $$$$$$$$$$$."  Experiementing and screwing up lots of parts and money is how Nos/Carb guys got to where they are today.  And, they had a lot of guinea  pigs early on and TONS of them now.

If I had a money tree I'd try all kinds of different stuff that I've thought about. I'm sure many others would also.

Don't really think it's necessarily gonna cost money , in fact seeing as how alky is cheaper than bottled water i wouldn't be surprised if you saved a few $$.

It will cost you quite a few setup runs but youd be running anyway if you wern't setting up., so thats no extra expence. Start safe, try small shots, record and read lamda data and plugs, then increase the jet sizes on the safe side.
Alky and Nitrous should be a perfect combination really, as the anti detonation properties of alky (over 130 octane) mean you can use a higher compression (and therefore higher base HP )motor than usual

Nothing ventured nothing gained Smile

Not sure how it would relate but we were running alky/ nitrous  drag cars 20yrs ago. It would seem that there should be a ton of info out there.

Whats the problem?------Its all math----------here is an example formula

4 new pistons at 150 each = 600.00
get block re-sleeved ,decked and bored--add 550.00 more
1 new crank-(hard to compress aluminum)add 2500.00 more
Head welded back up and remachined--add 500.00 more
SEE-its just math Clown
Quit asking me questions that make me remember how long ago that was!

a local engine builder builds a lot of alcohol big block chevy motors and he has run nitrous and alcohol injection on them and they ran very well but how would you know if using gasoline with the nos would have made more power without trying it.
