I'm just curious if anyone has or is successfully running a carbuerated alcohol bike and a wet nitrous kit together?
We are thinking about switching to alcohol but have no idea about adding nitrous to the mix

Star put together alcohol bikes in the past ( carbs & approx. 1500cc) with lots of nitrous.  I bet anyone doing a lot of promod stuff and/or nitrous bikes would know how to do the setup. Paul Gast would know how to set up the Lectrons.

Dave, its not the lecrtrons i am concerned about, we have that covered, its the fact of adding nitrous to the alcohol, is it successful? what fuel pressure do you use? fuel line size and so on

If the engine is alky on carbs, spray the nitrous with C16 from a remote tank and READ THE PLUGS!!!
I'm not as smart as I look!

I've heard of guys spraying gas/nos to an Alky motor.  Years ago, I knew a car guy down in Pensacola Florida that ran an alky motor with MFI and sprayed it with Nos.  That thing use to Bark!  It  was a Big Block in a Z-Car.  It was called Fanta Z.

Every person I have ever talked to that was running alcohol & nitrous, was using gasoline with the nitrous, not just alcohol alone. Ray.

I've never did it on a bike but have done it in an Import car. The engine ran with injected alcohol and we sprayed gas with the nitrous. It made tons of power and was very safe. If you don't use gas the alcohol with alcohol and nitrous is said to be to cold or at least that's what Elmer always said about it. I also heard of a few people that ran gas through their carbs with alcohol in their nitrous system. I think Jim Argo and Brock tried it that way.

I've heard the same thing from a ProMod car owner. They tried it all alky but it made less power.

We run it on our atv's that we race on the asphalt, Using a nos round  pump we can be safe with a 10 spread (examp. 20/nos-30/fuel) on the jet, as needed tighten up the spread. Maybee that will help you some.  Poppa JD

is there any solid proven reason not to run a purely alcohol motor and inject the nitrous into it instead of adding another mix of c16 and nitrous to an alcohol motor?

I don't think there is.   You would think that it would be less headache to run alky in the motor........and inject Nos and Alky through the wet system.  You would think it would complicate things even more by mixing Alky, Gasoline and Nos.  I think it's just a matter of experimentation.  Which is a matter of $$$$$$$$$$.

experimenting and spending $$$$$$ to do it isn't what I'm worried about, I don't want to be the first guy to come back with a list of reasons NOT to do it, like loss of HP
if I could talk to someone that has tried it and could tell me "this is what went wrong, but this is what was great about it" I think I'd jump all over the chance just to be different from every other bike out there
any help would be great!!!!!!

I tired it once, I remember seeing a dog and field and running along a white picket fence towards a beautiful sunset, then I woke up next to a dumpster.

Loss of HP is not the issue as others have stated.  If spending and blowing the money is no problem for you.......go for it. Wink
