Mark DeLuca set a new all-time mile record for Naturally Aspirated motorcycles at Maxton last weekend. He came off the trailer at 226.4 MPH then laid down a 227.2 MPH to up the record again. The big inch Busa motor was built and tuned by Steve Knecum, I did the chassis and Mark rode the wheels off it. Team Forstall-Knecum-DeLuca; the all motor men.

... What do you like best: the gradual meg, or the can outlet in the low pressure area ?

[QUOTE=2fast4u2c]The past record was 222 held by Rick Stetson aboard the Dave Owen Hayabusa.
Yes Dave's achievements with a smaller engine in a streetbike more than equal our accomplishments with race only bikes.
Roland: Our best performance at both Maxton and Bonneville have been with sidewinders. One a tapered meg, the other straight. I actually think for top speed a meg is not required if the primaries are correct in size and length. I would think the rear muffler is an aero handicap that is not overcome by a significant HP increase.
