Well there ya go,straight from Yves. I didn't mention the 7 entries required to make the contingency program as it was listed below the other reasons they don't pay to anyone but US entrants which pretty much stopped me dead. I can understand not paying out if there's not a full field but citizenship shouldn't enter into it. Maybe the Yanks are still pissed we burned the White House in the War of 1812... |

Top fuel need forget it too because they are few than 7 habitually
For drag race, contingency payments will not be made to classes that have fewer than seven (7) riders.extract from http://www.teamsuzuki.com/DragRacing/Contingency/ Yves Giard |

I sure hope that you are wrong Jack as I think Dan Cryderman should get a little back for all he has spent on his racebike. So would that mean that all of my Canadian Friends need to put their bikes in my name for contingency's! Ha! I can't believe that Suzuki would be predjudice, to the Canadians. Hey my buddy Kono would know if anyone would! Maybe he will let us know! Sheem aka Greg Schieman |

In getting ready to journey to Valdosta with the Pollard team, looked into ensuring that all contingency sponsors were covered. Scott Valetti referred us to the US Suzuki site for clarification on the Suzuki powered contingency, and I quote: Particiapants must hold an expert license and have a valid U.S. Social Security number or taxpayer I.D. number. Paricipants must have a valid US address. www.teamsuzuki.com /dragracing/contingency The address part is simple ,but I don't believe the US hands out SS #'s to anyone but US citizens. If I'm wrong ,I'll accept the heaps of abuse... |

Hi Jack, That seems very strange!!! I've never heard anywhere before that foreigners do not get the posted contingency. I guess you have an AMA Prostar License as well as a Canadian one so it would be doubly strange? Maybe Wade could comment? Cheers, Ian |

Jack, You missed Rikard Gustafsson in FB. He went 6.48 and he is using Canadian cases. Bo,you are correct - forgot Gustaffson's bike uses Steve Dawson's Pro 1 cases. Thanks for the reminder, I saw the :48 and figured he could possibly be the one Clark's record but it wasn't to be. I think he's also going to Valdosta. |

Wow,when I read the results and saw Geoff ran a 6.17 222 I almost fell off my chair. That is freakin' awesome.Too bad I wasn't there to see it,I would have loved that.I was too busy standing around at the Turkey Nationals trying not to fall asleep between passes. Be looking forward to the rest of the AMA dragbike season now more than ever. off topic note: for those that know where I work,(all 3 or 4 of you)I quit last week and am now working for the soon to be new Honda Powersports dealer in London.I don't know if admin will spaz on me for dropping the name but it has a lot to do with the city's nickname, and is due to open in November.I dropped a subtle hint about sponsorship,no bites yet. |

Johnny,pm sent.Pollard's new bike is a Suzuki. I don't have to like it but it is and it's funny you bring that up because the tech folks at AMA Dragbike just cleared that up for me today. Engine ID is done on bore spacing and cylinder stud location and the PUMA bottom ends that McBride,Perry and Pollard all use are based on GS Zuk architecture. So send $$, lol.
